£2.50 in Tesco for this pleasing generic hot sauce. Whackingly big pot, pleasant flavour. Good consistency. Recommended.

They seem to be modelling their brand very closely to Rooster Brand Sriracha:

I've also had this unfortunately named "Cock Brand": http://thaifooddirect.co.uk/media/catal ... gp0224.jpg

Both really good. I'll have to give the Tesco one a try.

...and to be honest, when I picked it up Rooster was what I thought I was buying. Rooster is already not authentic, so it's at least a couple of steps removed from the real deal. However I'm enjoying applying it liberally to a range of foods. It adds a mellow warmth without dominating in other ways.

It does make me think "Real Sriracha" for a future year's project.

I don't think I have had real Sriracha. The Cock Brand was pretty similar to the Rooster Brand, which is made in California, with Jalapenos. I need to do some googling to find an authentic recipe.

 there's a super hot variety! and an extra garlic also, not that extra garlic is required as the regular is pretty potent stuff.

Bought some of this from tesco today and had some with a prawn ring. Stunning stuff, didn't realise it would be so tasty. Nice garlic flavour with a nice heat. Will be adding this to my chicken wraps for work to wake the palette up. Recommended.

Unusual to see a recipe book based on a single condiment, but some of these recipes look decent, including a recipe for home-made Sriracha:
http://www.amazon.com/The-Sriracha-Cook ... 1607740036

Will have to try them out.

Flecam, Chicken wraps and the like is where I imagine it will be great. Like a chosen brand of sauce or ketchup it has it's own flavour. When that fits in as part of the whole it's good. I find it doesn't blend in so well if you want the heat but the sauce in the background.

Ronan, I'll be interested to hear how you get on if you get the book and/or do your own sriracha.

Thanks for the input guys. :P
